New Year New Vision

January 25, 2023 | By Christina Igaraividez

I’m going to be honest. Ever since I experienced deep grief for the first time these last couple of years, a lot of my beliefs have shifted. I have an estranged relationship with spirituality, religion and even yes… astrology. I’ve become more pragmatic but I’m also still trying to find my focus. Which I’m not sure is much different than who I was prior to 2020. Who can know these things? But there is one thing I still believe in. Energy. It’s real. It’s science! We have the power to shift it.

After a two year hiatus from vision boards, last year I decided to begrudgingly make one. I didn’t really KNOW what I “wanted” but I did know what would be NICE if it happened. I slapped some words and photos together on Canva and this is what came out:

And guess what, even with that begrudging, halfhearted energy, weird shit happened.

Peep the photo of Eva Longoria. I put her photo up there because I’d like to collaborate with her one day. Well after posting several videos my now “famous” JLO impression, guess who followed me on Instagram last year?? EVA FREAKING LONGORIA. OOOOKAAAAY.

I did end up seeing Chelsea Handler live and was reinvigorated by her special.

I did set up my Storytelling coaching YouTube channel and am so proud of it so far.

I did get hired to teach creative writing.

I did get my biggest client so far since starting my storytelling coaching business.

I did impersonations.

I did finish writing my pilot.

I did a whole f---ing lot with that little energy!

And this is what vision boarding allows you to do: dare to dream. Because even if it doesn’t all exactly happen as planned, you JUST might get close to it. This year I’m getting more specific. I’m including things that I’m afraid of but deep down know I want. I’m including numbers. I’m including outcomes. I’m including attainable. And unattainable! Creating a vision board isn’t about putting pretty photos and fun text and just leaving it to the deities to wave their hands to make it happen. It’s about putting intention behind your planning and using it as a tool to remind yourself that you deserve nice things AND have the power to get them. The work, of course, still needs to be done. But isn’t it easier to get to your destination with a map? Just imagine your vision board as being one giant arrow, reminding you and guiding you, even on your darkest days that you still have the flicker of desire within you.

Also you don’t have to do it alone. Have you ever noticed how good it feels and things you end up saying out loud when you’re surrounded by warm, positive energy?? That’s where we come in. Why not harness our power together at our upcoming Studio Luna Vision Board event!

All you need to bring is your wonderous, amazing self. Let’s get after it in 2023!
